Pool Automation Actuators

Pool automation actuators are motor‑driven valve controllers that rotate 2‑way or 3‑way valves to direct water flow through the correct plumbing lines. Each actuator receives low‑voltage signals from an automation system such as Pentair IntelliCenter, IntelliTouch, EasyTouch, or Jandy iAqualink, and converts those signals into precise valve movement.

Inside the actuator, a gear‑driven motor turns the valve to one of two programmed stop points (typically 0° and 180°). This allows the automation system to control:

  • Pool ↔ Spa mode switching

  • Heater routing and bypass lines

  • Water features and spillways

  • Solar heating circuits

  • Pump suction and return configurations

Actuators ensure correct hydraulic routing, protect heaters from low‑flow conditions, and allow the entire system to operate hands‑free. When an actuator fails or loses calibration, the valve may stop in the wrong position, causing issues such as no spa heat, weak water features, or improper flow through the heater.
